THOUGHT AND INTROSPECTION

PRAYER FOR THE BODY
Prayer for the body is essential in our day to day life. We should know how to pray for our body.
We’ve come upon earth for certain purposes, and in this earth we have been given one family, friends and a social circle around us. The great love and care of our parents enable us to face this world and help us know ourselves. They fulfill all of our demands whenever we want. We can have our spiritual growth when we will be able to understand the immense value of our life. When we will be to allow God to manifest in our life every moment, then we can reach perfection in our life.

First of all we should offer our body to the Divine and make it a Divine instrument. Body is only tamasic part in our being which gets affected by adverse forces immediately.
For making body our first instrument, we should keep it fit by doing Yoga asanas and pranayam. We have to offer each cells of the body to Her. Let Her Force, Her Strength, will work within us. And when Her Force is there with us, what is there that can touch us or whom need we fear?

All shall be drawn into a single plan,
A divine harmony shall be earth’s law,
Beauty and joy remould her way to live:
Even the body shall remember God,
Nature shall draw back from mortality
And Spirit’s fires shall guide the earth’s blind force;
Knowledge shall bring into the aspirant
ThoughtA high proximity to Truth and God. (Page 707)
“Life will then be a power released from the various restricting bonds of Ignorance and its heights will be pushed up to a level which is beyond the hungry reach of death. The tops of Life will be ablaze with the Immortal’s thoughts, and Light shall invade the darkness at the base of Life. Then as evolution proceeds, all shall be drawn into a single plan. All the laws of earth will be illumined by a divine harmony, and beauty and joy will remould Life. Even the body will not be left behind from this consummation. It will remember that it too is a manifestation of the divine. The luminous fires of the Spirit shall guide the blind force of the earth. Knowledge shall lead all aspiring thought to a nearness to Truth and God.”

Thoughts and Introspection- 02-Feb.-2009

Thoughts and Introspection- 02-Feb.-2009
Comparison with others is an inherent quality of lower mind. This is the main cause of all the conflicts and problems. In our day to day life most of the time we used to compare ourselves with others and especially most often this happens in our official environment. When my colleague does not do anything and just passes time in office hours and at the same time I used to struggle a lot to get the things moving, then in most of the time some sort of anger or depression comes into the mind and sometimes also that express it in outward activities. I was observing the same situation today and was trying to control my restlessness. But if we take the case of our family life the equation is altogether different. Mother used to work hard and never complains. Even she may not think for a fraction of second that she is working hard and doing some favour to other family members. What’s the difference then in both of the situations? In one case we used to compare and in another that becomes a so motto responsibility. I think in one case the work is imposed on us forcefully and in other we enjoy the work. In our family life the binding force that always exists is love and affection. That only makes our working as well as life beautiful. We have to bring the same love and affection into our office atmosphere and through that only proceed further.
But there is another important thing which we to always remember is the aim and objective of our present birth. Until we establish contact with our central being, i.e., the psychic being, we have to consider each and every happenings in our life as a stepping stone for moving forward and serving the Divine.
It is said that before taking a new birth the soul decides the type of experience it is going to experience in the forthcoming life and accordingly chooses the environment, place, parents, country etc. ho will be conducive for achieving that goal. After birth eventually we forget everything because here everything has to be started from scratch once again. ..birth, childhood, youth....all the stages of life. Generally the soul creates enough situations and gives us enormous hints so that we can be able to know our true self. If we remain conscious and open ourselves to the Divine Grace then in the course of our journey we experience so many beautiful things and the purpose of the birth becomes successful. We start living our life as an offering and sacrifice to the Divine. The distinction between egoistic desire and an aspiration for the higher life becomes clearly visible to us. Sri Aurobindo in his divinely words reminds the same thing to us various times.
“If you want to be a true doer of divine works, your first aim must be to be totally free from all desire and self regarding ego. All your life must be an offering and a sacrifice to the Supreme; .......... You must grow in the divine consciousness till there is no difference between your will and hers, no motive except her impulsion in you, no action that is not her conscious action in you and though you.
Until you are capable of this complete dynamic identification, you have to regard yourself as a soul and body created for her service, one who does all for her sake. Even if the idea of the separate worker is strong in you and you feel that it is you who do the work, yet it must be done for her...” - Sri Aurobindo (Book- The Mother, Chapter- V)
As the ego sense is very much active in me and I feel in most of the cases that I am indispensable, this simply further boost my ego. Ego always tries to compare and wants to prove its greatness.
Every individual has come to this earth for some specific purpose. Why should I except that what I am doing is the best and everybody will follow me. I have to constantly monitor this idea of separateness in me and offer it to the Divine.
O my Sweet Lord, Eternal Truth, Let Thy will be done.

Thoughts and Introspection- 01-Feb.-2009

Thoughts and Introspection- 01-Feb.-2009
Among the four parts of our being the physical has a very important role to play to make our life meaningful and perfect. Now a days people are becoming more and more conscious about their body and therefore attend health camps, practice asanas and pranayamas etc.. The yoga science camp conducted by Swami Sri Ramdevji Maharaja was just concluded yesterday here at hyderabad and a large number of people of all age groups had participated in this six day camp. The camp environment was really very nice with the presence of a group consciousness and everyone was contributing their hundred percent to keep their body perfect. The electrifying words of Swamiji which touched me very much was that we should practice pranayama in the same consciousness as we do a special puja or recite a very special mantra before God. Swamiji was teaching pranayamas, various types of yogic asanas as well as preaching the participants to love the country and be a very very active and conscious citizen of our beloved mother India.
The Mother has also given so much importance to physical education. As per her words :
“ Of all the domains of human consciousness, the physical is the one most completely governed by method, order, discipline, process. ........
Physical education has three principal aspects:
(1) control and discipline of the functioning of the body,
(2) an integral, methodical and harmonious development of all the parts and movements of the body and
(3) correction of any defects and deformities. “ (Collected Works of the Mother, Vol-12)
Sometimes we don’t even know how to sit properly, how to listen, sleep, walk, etc,..
Yesterday in a youth camp, a young student who sat besides me was shaking his legs in such a manner that I was getting disturbed again and again with the feeling that as if I am shaking my legs unconsciously.
We can be able to make our body to follow a discipline only when we shall be conscious about all our movements all the time.
The second and third steps aspects can be achieved by practicing suitable asanas and pranayamas required for our own body. I have to first of all know what are the defects and deformities in my body and then try to rectify those things consciously with a methodical manner.
There is a beautiful quotation of The Mother which depicts the impact of consciousness on our body.
How to Tackle Stirs:
“Coming up and down the stairs – you cannot imagine how useful that can be from the point of view of physical culture, if you know how to make use of it. Instead of going up because you are going up and coming down because you coming down, like any ordinary man, you go up with the consciousness of all muscles which are working and of making them work harmoniously. You will see. Just try a little, you will see! This means that you can use all the movements of your life for a harmonious development of your body. “ - The Mother
How beautiful and powerful is the statement of The Mother. Just like all life is yoga for us, all our movements in life becomes an exercise then!
The final aim of our body is to express beauty and harmony and for that let us try to be conscious in all our physical activities.
